The sludge truck solves the problem of transporting and processing drilling waste in the oil and gas industries. Oil and gas sludges are the most environmentally aggressive byproducts of oil and gas extraction, continuously generated during production and requiring mandatory processing (continuous pyrolysis). After this, they can be used as technical soil for road embankment. The removal and processing of drilling waste helps not only protect the environment from the toxic elements it contains but also provides valuable and safe construction materials. The main method of dealing with these wastes is the construction of rapidly deployable stations for receiving them in temporary tanks and further processing of oil sludge.
The main difference between a sludge truck and a regular dump truck is the closed body (closed top platform with a special filling hatch and a sealed rear gate and bottom), as well as protection against the aggressive environment contained in the sludge. The body of the oil sludge truck is made from high-quality structural steel, 6 mm thick, and modified through a series of modern chemical and technological treatments, which provide unique steel properties for achieving high corrosion resistance. Additionally, the body is equipped with exhaust gas heating to allow oil sludge to be unloaded without issue in cold weather. Sludge trucks use full-wheel drive for off-road operation and special hydraulic oil for low-temperature conditions. Due to these features, the truck can transport sludge in harsh northern climates.
TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
The KAMAZ 6522 dump truck is designed for transporting high-density drilling sludge and waste from oil fields (it has a higher payload capacity compared to the KAMAZ 43118 chassis): mixtures containing oil products, water, and mechanical impurities such as clay, sand, metal oxides, etc. The dump platform is a sealed container designed for transporting sludge. The upper part of the container has a hatch for loading the sludge, and unloading is done through the fully sealed rear tilting gate of the dump truck.
Thanks to the removable top cover of the body, this model of sludge truck can also be used as a regular dump truck.
